Mountain Climber Update

Just received notification from Arusha that all four hikers, Mike Rinker, Aaron Roach, Will Averett and Bob Wallace made it to the summit last night.  They have started their descent and should be back in Arusha by tomorrow midday. We are excited that they were able to reach the top!!

Here is a picture of the mountain and the routes, if you are interested.  They went the Marangu route.  Note that the elevations are all in meters not feet. Uhuru Peak is at 19,140 feet.

Thanks for all your prayers!!

Pray for our hikers!

This is the only way we have seen Kilimanjaro but today is the day our hikers, Will Averett, Michael Rinker, Aaron Roach and Bob Wallace attempt to summit Kilimanjaro and see it much closer!  Unfortunately, we have no communication with them at this point and pray that they are on the expected schedule.  We expect that they have eaten their dinner and are resting.  They will begin their summit at midnight (5pm Eastern time) and should reach the summit at sunrise (approximately midnight).  Please pray for their protection.

Car issues

Reflection from Mary Pat.

Ok so here's the deal.  Bobs van always had to be in front of us, so we were literally eating dirt.  Well to stay back so we were not totally eating dirt we (A) lost their van while trying to find the village to install the water filtration (B) broke down in the middle of nowhere!  I knew we were in trouble when the driver picks up trash from the side of the road and stuffs it into the rear axle, and then proceeds to throw  in the car a part that looks like the drive shaft!  I looked right in the drivers eyes and said "Don't we need that to go on?"  To which he replies "NO PROBLEM"........yeah right! By the way the part we were able to get along WITHOUT is the part laying on the ground!!
